Look who we have to stay!

Once again, our family of swallows in the washing up area have been keeping us entertained. This year there are 6 of them. Their parents are rushing in and out feeding the insistent youngsters who are waiting, mouths open. One of our campers caught the moment on camera.

The chicks have started to fly now which is keeping the poor parents even more busy gathering them up and keeping them from harm.

There are a family of robins in the woods who were visiting glampers in the Dingley Dell. I thought that robins were very territorial, but we have them everywhere on the campsite. They are very cheeky and will even fly into your tent to follow you. They certainly love being close to people and of course our campers will offer up titbits for them.

Our nesting boxes have been popular with the blue tits this year. I can hear them and see the parents squeezing in and out the little holes.

We can’t really trim our bushes and hedges during the nesting season, so they are a little straggly at the moment but it’s all in a good cause.

The hedgehog family are back too. All our wildlife seems to be quite tame at the moment and seem to be used to sharing the campsite with our holiday makers. People love their close encounters with nature and get very excited when they spot the otters on the lake at dusk if they are very quiet.

The schools are breaking up n France this week and it's lovely for the children to get close the nature and enjoy being in the woods and by the lake. To be honest it’s the young teenagers that catch the best trout too.

What could be nicer fresh rainbow trout caught and cooked at the lake...
